The most notable change in these 2018 devices is the adoption of the 18:9 aspect ratio. Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1 are making the switch to the 18:9 form factor, to look like their bigger brother, Nokia 7 Plus. The 3.1 sticks to a Mediatek chip like its predecessor. MediaTek SoC’s also make their way to the Nokia 5.1. All the devices run on AndroidOne so HMD’s commitment to timely updates still stands. The Nokia 3.1 and 5.1 are based on Android One and will receive two platform updates as well as three years’ worth of security patches. The Nokia 2.1 steps down to Android Go, spotting lightweight versions of Google’s apps.
